RTL Group extends its online network IP-Web.net to Hungary

RTL Group is extending its European online advertising network, IP-Web.net, into Hungary. The network will now include RTL Klub Online, an online sales house built on the success of the Hungarian TV channel RTL Klub. IP-Web.net is now present in 8 European countries, offering advertising possibilities on more than 85 quality websites throughout Europe, with a total of 250 million page impressions per month.

„The expansion of IP-Web.net further enhances the possibilities for advertisers acting on a European level, who wish to combine their TV and on-line advertising strategies,“ says Johannes Züll, Senior Vice President Internet & New Technologies at RTL Group. „Since its foundation in October 2000, the network has continued to grow step-by-step, and is now entering the Eastern European market. This rapid progress, which is likely to continue in the near future, is an example of RTL Group‘s ability to combine its strengths in broadcasting and new media and build cross-media presence all over Europe.“

RTL Klub Online markets a portfolio of 6 websites, all linked to the programmes and broadcasting activities of RTL Klub. These include the infotainment portal of the channel itself (www.rtlklub.hu), and that of „Barátok köst“ (www.baratok.hu) , a popular daily soap broadcast on RTL Klub and produced by the RTL Group affiliate Grundy Ufa. Established three years ago, RTL Klub is already a major player in the Hungarian television and film production market, and ranks as the most popular private TV channel among local 18 to 49 year olds. Besides „Barátok köst“, RTL Klub’s most popular programmes include the game show “Who wants to be a millionaire.“
